2017 Boston Marathon: Braintree Man Takes 11th

It was a good day for Sean Quigley.

BRAINTREE, MA — A Braintree man was among the first to cross the finish line at the 2017 Boston Marathon.

Archbishop Williams graduate Sean Quigley placed 11th in the 121st running of the race, completing the trip in 2:15:34. The time was good enough for a 5:11-mile pace.

Quigley was the seventh fastest American and fastest Massachusetts resident in the race. Second place finisher Galen Rupp had the fastest American time, clocking in at 2:09:58.

Kenyan Geoffrey Kirui pulled away late from Rupp to win the men's elite race early Monday afternoon, finishing in 2:09:37.
