There is a Light
This is a poem in memory of my dear baby brother Howard C. Gordon Jr.

There is a light just fight
Do not slump into that fright
Or not knowing where the brightness is

Please, please do not go down that dark hole
Because I will always lend you a pole
Cling on, cling on and never
.....let it go
Round and smooth to the touch
As it may cause you to slide back down and fall on the ground
Get back up and combat that feeling of despite
Never, ever go down the drain again this year
It will not cause you the same agony of others
The pain you feel cannot compare to those who care
The people you would leave behind will never forget it in their mind
So find truth in which you are inside and out a unique treasure by far
We all get down at one time or another but BROTHER of mind
I wish that I always said your were fine as I regret to this day
Not pulling you out of that ugly wall
As I close my eyes, I see a person filled with much goodness
Not like another...
Sensitive and caring to those who did suffer
A lesson to remember we all have a role to seek relief
in those who possess this flaw
Hero you are, a soothing shining star to give me this chore
to help another
The elegy that I crafted so bravely that scary day in October
A flashback so vividly, instead of the sadness of the day
My thoughts refer to a list of our time together:
Me you and Kathy way back when we were free and young
Nothing in the world could come between our fun
A dynamic image embedded forever in my mind
To never forget our sibling bond...
Why did it have to be?
Today down on one knee
Praying by the crab apple tree
Planted in my garden for your memory
I shout out, "God please help those who suffer"
Stop, stop the noose keep your spirit free and loose
Soar high
Bright and beyond
Flight in life
There is a reason to breath in this air
Remember, remember...
There is a light
For your sight
Be your bright
AND always fight
For the meaning of your life
IN MEMORY OF MY BABY BROTHER LEFT THIS EARTH
OF HIS OWN CHOICE
