Braintree 5k Kicks Of 4th Of July Celebration This Weekend

The first annual "5K to Braintree Day Road Race and Fun Walk​." starts off the Independence Day celebrations with the run and a party after.

BRAINTREE, MA — The town isn't waiting for Braintree Day this year to start celebrating the Fourth of July. Braintree will start a week early with the "5K to Braintree Day Road Race and Fun Walk."

The race starts at 10 a.m., on Sunday, June 23, and all the money goes to towards supporting Braintree's annual Fourth of July celebration. It will start and end at the town hall.

After the race, there will be a party and beer garden on French's Common sponsored by Craft Beer Cellar, as well as local craft breweries including Castle Island Brewing Company, Untold Brewing, and Braintree's Widowmaker Brewing. There will also be live music from Boston Irish band Devri.

Online registration is available until 3 p.m., Friday and costs $30. Walk up registration is available at pre-race bib pick up from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Sunday. Walk up registration is $35.

  • One beverage (soda/water/beer) ticket that can be redeemed at post-race party beer garden on French's Common (Must be over 21 to be served beer - proper ID required).
