B.A.S.E. program director Jennifer Walsh said, “Being a able to build our own library will help build a stronger home/school connection as well as building stronger readers. Some of the children we service do not go to the library and do not have many books at home. It is wonderful that now all the children can take one or two books home every week. This gift is sincerely appreciated.”
In a proclamation from earlier this month, President Barack Obama said, “From infancy through adulthood, reading enriches the human experience and illuminates the path to learning, opportunity, and success. By sharing the beauty and power of books with our children, we make a vital investment not only in their future, but also in an America that leads the world in educating its people."

“At Got Books, we are committed to ensuring that children have access to books. With this gift to the Braintree After School Program, we’ve given away over 15,000 books in the last 12 months – and are happy to continue to do it! As the President has noted, a love of books that begins early and continues throughout childhood into adult hood lays a foundation for success in the future.”
