Braintree Baseball to Play for State Title Wednesday Night

Another state title could come to Braintree Wednesday night when the Wamps face St. John’s Prep for the MIAA Division 1A title in the Super 8 Final.

This will not be the first time the two teams have met in the tournament. Last week, Braintree beat St. John’s Prep 8-6 in extra innings to earn a spot in the final.

After falling into the one-loss bracket, St. John’s Prep beat BC High 10-5 to earn a rematch.

With Braintree left standing as the only undefeated team in the double-elimination Super 8 tournament, Prep will have to beat the Wamps in back-to-back games if they want the state title.

First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton.
