Braintree Beautification Day Returns This Weekend

The town's annual cleanup is scheduled for Saturday when residents will gather with rakes and work gloves at a number of local haunts.

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree's annual Beautification Day is set to return this weekend, when residents will don their work gloves to help cleanup the community.

“This is an event I look forward to every year,” said Kokoros.

“Beautification Day is a great opportunity for our entire community, both residents and businesses to come together to show our pride in our town’s beauty and appeal.”

Residents will gather at Braintree Town Hall on Saturday at 8 a.m. for "location suggestions" and to collect materials like rakes, bags and work gloves, officials said.

This year's target areas include the Town Hall Memorial Mall, the grounds of the Braintree Historical Society, the beach and park at Sunset Lake, Penniman Park on Cleveland Ave., Smith Beach, and the Braintree High School access road.

In the event of inclement weather, Beautification Day will be moved to May 6.

The event is held with support from several local organizations including the Braintree Rotary Club, the North Braintree Civic Association and the East Braintree Civic Association.
