Braintree Boys And Girls Basketball Teams Seeded In Postseason Tournaments

Both teams will be looking to make a run in the MIAA Division 1 South tournament.

BRAINTREE, MA — It’s tournament time for high school sports in Massachusetts and the Braintree boys and girls basketball teams are in the mix for postseason play.

After years of entering the Division 1 South girls tournament as one of the top teams, the Wamps enter postseason play as the seventh seed and will host Bridgewater Raynham on a Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m. If the Wamps win, they move on to the quarterfinals against second-seeded Bishop Feehan, the team that beat Braintree to win the 2016 Division 1 South championship.

In the boys’ bracket, Braintree enters as the 10th seed and will travel to seventh-ranked North Attleboro for a 6:30 p.m. tipoff on March 1. The winner of that game will face the winner of Marshfield/Wellesley-BC High.
