Braintree Boys Soccer Upsets Top Seeded King Philip, Advance to D1 South Final

It took extra time, but the Wamps are going to the sectional final.

BROCKTON, MA — It took some extra time but the Braintree High School boys' soccer team will play for a trophy this weekend.

The fourth-ranked Wamps beat No. 1 King Philip in Brockton Wednesday night 4-3 in penalty kicks following a 1-1 draw to advance to the MIAA Division 1 South final. Waiting for them will be No. 6 Needham.

The winner of the final plays the north champion in the state semi-final.
