Braintree Cheerleaders Have Eyes Set on Nationals

If the Wamps finish in the top three at the state meet, they move on to the national championship in Orlando.

BRAINTREE, MA — The Braintree High School cheerleading team has eyes on Florida following a stellar performance at the regional championship.

In preparation of a possible trip to the national meet, the school committee approved a trip to Orlando, Fla. for the 2017 UCA National Championship.

On Oct. 30, the team took second at the Division 1 South championship, finishing behind only Bridgewater-Raynham. The top four teams in each region automatically qualified for the state final at Tantasqua Regional High School in Fiskdale.

If the Wamps finish in the top three at states, they advance to the national championship.

The coaching staff told the school committee Monday that the team enters the state meet in a good position to advance to the national meeting after scoring the second best score for any team from any region.
