Braintree Commission on Disabilities Announces Available Funds for Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is available for those who need to improve, update, or create inclusive accessibility within our community.

The Braintree Commission on Disabilities would like to inform the residents of the Town of Braintree that there is available funding for those in need of financial assistance to improve, update, or create inclusive accessibility within our community.
The Commission on Disabilities (C.O.D.) is funded according to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 40: Section 22G. Any funding received from fines for handicap parking violations are deposited into an expenditure account for the C.O.D. Expenditures from this account are made upon the recommendation of the members of the C.O.D. and are brought forth for approval from the Mayor.
In the past, the Commission on Disabilities has contributed funding to several accessibility projects within the town including: an accessible bathroom at Pond Meadow Park, an accessible bathroom at the Council on Aging, 911 Software for the Braintree Police Department identifying people with disabilities in an emergency, inclusive playground equipment, and several other accessibility improvements. The Commission would like to encourage anyone, group, or organization within the town that may see a need that would benefit our community to contact the commission at 781-794-8195.
