Braintree Coronavirus Cases Up, But Positive Test Rate Stays Low
Braintree was one of 65 towns in Massachusetts where positive coronavirus tests grew over the last two weeks, according to state officials.
BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree was one of a few dozens towns in Massachusetts that saw a rise in positive coronavirus cases over the last 14 days — but the town's positive test rate is still below safety thresholds.
Over the past two weeks, 11 people tested positive for the virus out of the 749 who were tested, according to data released Wednesday by the state Department of Public Health. That's a positive test rate of about 1.47 percent, well below the 2 percent safety threshold.

Other local towns have seen increases in cases over the last two weeks. Holbrook saw seven new cases, and Randolph saw 22 new cases.
Since the pandemic began locally in March, 816 Braintree residents have tested positive for the virus.
