Braintree Coronavirus Fatalities Hit 85

BRAINTREE, MA — With the addition of five new deaths, the total number of people from Braintree who have died of the new coronavirus reached 85 on Tuesday, according to town officials.

The total number of cases reached 765, a rise of one from Monday — that's the lowest daily increase in months.

Statewide, the case count rose to 79,332, an increase of 870 from Monday. Thirty-three more people died of complications from coronavirus, bringing the commonwealth's total deaths to 5,141. More than 7,000 residents of Norfolk County were among those who contracted the virus.
