Dharma Dreams Vocational Center

Dharma Dreams Vocational Center is a nonprofit vocational and life skills program based in Hanover, Massachusetts, serving young adults ages 18–26 with moderate cognitive disabilities. Our mission is to help students build practical job skills in the trades, confidence, independence, emotional regulation, and workplace readiness through hands-on vocational training and supportive learning experiences. The program was created in response to the growing need for meaningful transition opportunities for young adults as they move beyond high school and into adulthood. Many families struggle to find programs that combine practical workforce preparation, life skills development, communication skills, confidence-building, and supportive real-world learning experiences. Dharma Dreams offers hands-on exposure to vocational areas such as landscaping and grounds maintenance, painting and surface preparation, workplace professionalism, entrepreneurship basics, and life skills training. Students also learn mind-body techniques that support focus, confidence, emotional regulation, stress management, and workplace success. Our introductory summer program, launching at the end of July, is designed to help students and families become familiar with the program and explore vocational interests before participating in longer-term programming. Long-term programming focuses on helping students develop greater independence, workplace readiness, responsibility, confidence, and practical trade skills through structured, hands-on learning experiences. The drive was scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday at Town Hall. Donations will be made through a drive up and drop off system. All food donations will benefit the Marge Crispin Center's food pantry, while protective gear will go to Braintree first responders. Check the expiration date on food items you plan on donating. If you are making a monetary or gift card donation, you may use the tax collectors drop box for those donations. All checks should be made out to The Marge Crispin Center with a memo note of "Task Force" on the check. Town officials said the Marge Crispin Center remains open and has continued to operate from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday to Thursday. The center also offered food delivery service for residents over 70 or that have underlying health conditions. Braintree residents in need of food assistance and are not currently a client of the food pantry should contact the Marge Crispin Center by phone at 781-848-2124 or by email at margecrispin@verizon.net .
