Braintree Coronavirus Update: 1 New Death Reported

BRAINTREE, MA — Another Braintree resident has died after contracting the coronavirus, according to town health officials. As of Wednesday afternoon, 811 residents have tested positive for the virus with 86 fatalities.

Nearly 90,000 people in Massachusetts have tested positive for the new coronavirus as of Wednesday afternoon, according to Massachusetts Department of Health data. More than 7,600 residents of Norfolk County were among those who contracted the virus.

According to the data, there have been 128 additional deaths, bringing to total number of deaths statewide to 6,066. There were 1,045 newly reported cases since data was released Wednesday afternoon.

The state conducted 13,013 tests Wednesday, bringing the total number of completed tests to 489,953. The current hospitalization rate as of Wednesday was 2,518 patients, including 675 patients in intensive care.
