Braintree Democrats Invited to Attend Town Hall Meeting on March 6th
Braintree Democrats can work locally to stymie Trump's agenda by getting active now. First Step: Attend the Town Hall meeting on March 6th

If you’re a Democrat in Braintree who is dismayed by the current state of affairs in national politics, it’s easy to think that there’s nothing you can do. After all, our political representation in Congress is already populated by Democrats poised to fight the conservative agenda Republicans are pushing. Massachusetts doesn’t really seem like the problem.
In light of this, you may be surprised to know that the Republican Party has been very busy in recent years building support in our town, while the Democratic Town Committee has quietly failed to even hold a meeting since 2012. However, the election of Donald Trump has ripped complacency away from Democrats in much of the country, and Braintree is no exception.
A new organization called Braintree Democratic Action is seeking to revitalize Democratic Party life in our town, starting with rallying Democrats to attend two back-to-back meetings at Town Hall on March 6th at 6:30. The first of these meetings is the Democratic Caucus Meeting to elect Braintree delegates to the Democratic State Convention in June. The second is a reorganization meeting of the Braintree Democratic Town Committee.

Both meetings need robust attendance to ensure healthy debate and to lift the stagnation that has recently characterized the Democratic Party in Braintree. Working together, we can push our local government to take a stand against the unethical policies put forward by the Trump administration, as well as to support the election of local officials who are better prepared to champion Democratic causes in general. Attendance at Town Hall on March 6th is the right start for anyone who wants to see Braintree stay blue. Our lack of engagement only profits the Trump administration.
