Braintree Drug Arrest Leads to More in Worcester, Randolph, Abington

Police say Matthew Connell was responsible for drug sales in Braintree.

Braintree, MA – A drug arrest in Braintree has led to more arrests in the area police said.

Matthew Connell, 20, of Braintree, was arrested on June 14 and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, according to the Patriot Ledger.

According to Police Chief Russell Jenkins, Connell is responsible for drug sales in Braintree. Police also seized about $30,000 in cash from Connell.

In conjunction with information from the investigation and Braintree detectives, police in Worcester executed several search warrants and seized six pounds of marijuana, $80,000, a handgun, and over $10,000 from a bank account, Jenkins said on the Braintree Police Department Nextdoor page.

Over $10,000 and two pounds of mushrooms were seized with search warrants executed in Abington and Randolph. A total of four individuals were arrested as a result of the Braintree investigation, Jenkins said.
