The Braintree Fire Department was awarded a grant of about $34,000 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

BRAINTREE, MA — The Braintree Fire Department was awarded a grant of about $34,000 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The $33,840 "Assistance to Firefighters" grant was allocated for the purchase of personal protective equipment and disinfection supplies and equipment to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Since its inception in 2001, the "Assistance to Firefighters"grant program has paid for critical resources for firefighters, such as protective gear, emergency vehicles, training and more.
