Braintree Gets $103K State Grant For Technology Upgrades

Braintree town officials are expected to use the grant to integrate wireless radio systems between the schools and police and fire.

BRAINTREE, MA — State officials awarded Braintree a grant of more than $102,000 to strengthen technological infrastructure in town. The grant is part of a $3 million package the Executive Office for Administration and Finance awarded to 51 cities and towns across Massachusetts.

Town officials are expected to use the grant to integrate wireless radio systems between the schools and the police and fire departments.

"We are proud to continue our support for cities and towns as they carry out major technological projects that may otherwise be unaffordable," Administration Secretary Michael Heffernan said. "These awards will help make local technology more reliable and efficient, and will provide greater access for residents."
