Braintree Girls' Basketball Get 2nd Seed In D1 South Tournament

The boys' team will enter the postseason as the 13th seed.

BRAINTREE, MA — It's tournament time for high school sports in Massachusetts and Braintree is the once again team to beat entering the MIAA Division 1 South girls' basketball tournament.

The Wamps have been awarded the second seed in the Division 1 South Sectional and will start postseason play against No. 15 Plymouth North March 1 at 6:30 p.m. The winner will play the winner of No. 7 Walpole vs. No. 10 Needham.

In the boys' bracket, the Wamps have been awarded the 13th seed and will host fourth-ranked Newton North in the first round Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m. The winner moves on to a quarterfinal round game against the winner of No. 5 Catholic Memorial vs. No. 12 Bridgewater-Raynham.
