Braintree Girls Basketball Heading Back to D1 South Finals

The Wamps beat Wellesley 47-35 in the MIAA D1 South semi-finals.

BRAINTREE, MA — There is a sense of familiarity with the Braintree girls' basketball team after their latest win.

By virtue of a 47-35 win over No. 5 Wellesley, the top-ranked Wamps will go for their fifth consecutive MIAA Division 1 South championship Friday night.

Waiting for Braintree will be the second-ranked Bishop Feehan Shamrocks, who beat Mansfield 66-45 to advance out of the semi-final round.

This will be the third year in a row Braintree and Bishop Feehan will face off in the tournament, with the Wamps winning the last two times.

Tipoff at Massasoit Community College in Brockton is set for 6:30 p.m. on March 11.
