Braintree Girls' Basketball Named Among State's Greatest Teams

The best has possibly yet to come for the current crop of Braintree High School girls’ basketball players but they are already being named among the state’s all-time best.

In the Boston Globe’s list of the top 10 girls’ basketball teams in state history, the 2014 Wamps were ranked eighth for their run last year to a state title.

The list may have to be updated in a few weeks, Braintree, who has yet to lose a game to a Massachusetts team in two seasons, beat Newton South 67-33 on March 2 to advance to the MIAA Division 1 South championship against Bishop Feehan, The finals are scheduled for March 6 at 5:45 p.m. at Taunton High School.
