Braintree Girls Basketball Players Named Globe All-Scholastics

The accolades keep rolling in for the Braintree girls’ basketball team.

After winning the Division 1 state title, four Wamps and their coach have been recognized by the Boston Globe.

Coach Kristen McDonnell was named Division 1 Coach of the Year by the Globe, with the paper noting that the team is 123-19 during her time as coach.

The Super Team included Ashley Russell and Molly Reagan. Earlier this year, Russell was named the Mass. Gatorade Player of the Year and ESPN Boston’s Miss Basketball.

Also honored as All-Scholastics were Brianna Herlihy and Bridget Herlihy.

In March, the Wamps completed their undefeated season by winning their second state title in as many years. In two years of competition, they have a perfect record against in-state competition.
