Braintree High Baseball Makes Super 8 Tournament

BRAINTREE, MA - The Braintree High School baseball team will have an opportunity to defend their Super 8 championship.

The Wamps earned the sixth seed in the MIAA Division 1A tournament and will face third-ranked St. John's Prep on June 1 at 4 p.m. The first-round game is a rematch of last year's final. The winner will face the winner of the St. John's Prep of Shrewsbury-Plymouth North game.

Last season, the teams faced each other three times in the double-elimination tournament. In the winner's bracket semi-final, Braintree beat St. John's Prep 8-6 in 11 innings. The two team would face off in the championship round, where St. John's gave the Wamps their first loss 20-4 but Braintree came back in the second game of the round to win the title 7-2.
