Braintree Hires 2 New Police Officers

BRAINTREE, MA — Two new Braintree police officers were sworn on Monday night, Chief Mark Dubois announced.

Officers Kevin St. Ives and Christopher Dominguez were sworn in by Mayor Charles Kokoros during a private ceremony at the Braintree Police Department.

St. Ives came to Braintree from the Boston University Police Department, where he worked as a police officer for nearly 20 years. He was recently promoted to sergeant at BU and held many special assignments and positions, including field training officer, rape aggression defense instructor and first responder and CPR instructor and was part of the motorcycle unit and bicycle unit.

He was also the recipient of numerous awards and commendations by Boston University police.

Dominguez most recently worked as a police officer in Hanson from 2016-2021. Prior to that, he worked for the Norfolk County Sheriff's Office from 2015-2016 and as a deputy sheriff at the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Florida from 2012-2014. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is among the largest sheriff's offices in the country and Officer Dominguez received several commendations and letters of appreciation while serving there.

"We are pleased to welcome Officer St. Ives and Officer Dominguez to the Braintree Police Department," Chief Dubois said. "Both officers bring many years of service and valuable experience to their new positions."

Both officers will now participate in the Braintree Police Department’s field training program.
