Braintree Holding Town Council Candidates Forum Before Election
Braintree has scheduled a candidates night for Town Council hopefuls. Eight of the nine seats will see contested races in the election.

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree will hold its first candidates forum for Town Council hopefuls Wednesday, Oct. 2. Eight of the nine Braintree Town Council seats will see contested races in the town election Nov. 5.
Five of those contested races are for open seats. District 1 Councilor Kokoros and District 3 Councilor Thomas Bowes ran for mayor, while Councilor At-large Councilor Sean Powers briefly ran for mayor but dropped out of the race and decided not to seek re-election because of the time commitment his new role at the state's Division of Professional Licensure will require.
District 2 Councilor Thomas Whalen also decided to not run again, while District 5 Councilor David Ringius announced he's running for the open at-large seat instead.
