Braintree Hosts Master Plan Community Forum This Weekend

BRAINTREE, MA — Much like the rapper Rakim, Braintree officials are thinking of a master plan.

Rather than a way to get "Paid In Full", officials in Braintree are developing strategies to shape the next 10 years of life in the town in some of the most important areas of their influence, and they want to hear what residents think.

Braintree's Master Plan is described as a "10-year vision and roadmap for Braintree's future."

"The Plan will be the foundational policy document for the Town - guiding local decisions about future growth, preservation, and change," officials said.

This plan was started in February 2022, and focuses on eight primary issues and things to improve in Braintree, including:

• Land Use
• Transportation, Circulation, & Transit
• Economic Development
• Housing
• Historic & Cultural Resources
• Open Space, Natural Resources, and Recreation
• Public Facilities & Services
• Sustainability & Resilience

With that, officials have scheduled a community forum for Saturday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The meeting will be hosted in Cahill Auditorium at Braintree Town Hall.
