Braintree HS Parking Tickets Turn Into Charitable Act
The end result of the Braintree HS parking prank was a donation to hurricane relief efforts.

BRAINTREE, MA — A parking prank that led to parking tickets from the Braintree Police Department has now resulted in a donation to help those effected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma.
The police department announced this week that the Braintree High School seniors raised $800 in hurricane relief. The donation was made up of seniors who opted to make the contribution rather than pay a parking ticket.
On Sept. 8, 65 vehicles in the student lot were ticketed for improper parking. Police say members of the senior class parked across the while parking spaces rather than between the lines in an effort to keep juniors out of the lot. The prank resulted in $15 parking tickets for those improperly parked and a firestorm of praise and criticism on the Braintree Police Department Facebook page.
