Braintree July 4th Celebration Committee Announces Fundraising Challenge Kick-Off
The Committee begins fundraising drive with Game Night Event on Thursday, May 31, 2012.
The Braintree July 4th Celebration Committee is announcing their fundraising challenge kick-off. With a little less than 30 days to go until the June 30th parade and celebration take place, which is the first and largest on the South Shore, the committee members are asking the people and businesses of Braintree to partner up and join the fundraising team to make these patriotic festivities a success.
“The people and businesses in Braintree have been our financial foundation. We are committed to keeping this celebration a free family event and know that they will step and become a part of our team to ensure that we have the funds to celebration our nation’s independence” CommitteeC hairman Sean Powers said.
The committee’s fundraising challenge kicks off with Game Night: Boston VS Detroit to be held Thursday, May 31, 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the SouthSide Tavern in South Braintree Sq, 941 Washington St.

Magically turned into Boston’s favorite ball park, there will be Red Sox Ticket Raffles, prizes for the best dressed fans, face painting for kids, a huge buffet of hot dogs, burgers, fried dough and pop corn, plus Boston sports trivia from Wicked Trivia and tons of flat screens to take in the game. $15 per person with a maximum family charge of $35. “We’re very thankful for the financial support in the past from the residents and businesses and look forward to that continued partnership as we come together to celebrate the Fourth of July,” Mayor Joe Sullivan said.
