Braintree July 4th Celebration Committee Continues Fundraising Challenge

The Committee is seeking donations from businesses and residents to support the celebration.

The Braintree July 4th Celebration Committee is continuing their fundraising challenge. With a little more than a week to go until the June 30th parade and celebration take place, which is the first and largest on the South Shore, the committee members are asking the people and businesses of Braintree to partner up and join the fundraising team to make these patriotic festivities a success.

“The outpouring of support for the parade and celebration has been tremendous, but we haven’t quite reached our goal yet. We know the people and businesses of Braintree will step forward, make a donation and becomea part of this celebration that we have all come to love,” said Sean Powers, Chairman of the Braintree July 4th Celebration Committee.

The committee is charged with raising the necessary funds to pay for the costs associated with the parade and celebration. The easiest way for residents and businesses to donate is to use the reply envelopes provided in their June BELD bills or log onto to www.Braintrees4th.org to make a donation online.

“Braintree has always been proud of this parade and celebration as we hold one of the first and largest Independence Day festivities on the South Shore. Braintree businesses and residents have been extremely generous in the past and we hope and are confident that that financial support will continue,” Mayor Joseph Sullivan said.

The Saturday June 30th festivities begin with the Stars and Stripes Parade stepping from the at 11:45 a.m. and ending at .

Celebration kicks off at Braintree High with local live entertainment, food and rides provided by North American Amusements, leading up to our Salute to Our Soldiers with returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan, raffle drawing with winners announced just before the fireworks display going off at 10 p.m.
