Braintree Macy's Chosen as Holiday 'Marathon' Weekend Store

Macy's at the South Shore Plaza will remain open 24-hours a day leading up to Christmas Eve.

Attention last-minute shoppers: Do you wish stores would stay open all night, giving you extra time to find holiday deals?

Then say hello to marathon shopping at Macy's, which will remain open 24 hours a day at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree from 7 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21 through 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

The special hours are part of a nationwide expansion of the retailer's six-year-old marathon shopping initiative. It began with keeping its doors open 24-hours at Macy’s Queens Center in 2006 and grew to more stores and hours in the years since, according to a press release issued by the company Thursday.

“We hope to make it easy for our customers across the country to finish their shopping at any time of day or night, and with the benefit of the great deals and value they count on from our One Day Sale events."
