Braintree Man Charged With Threatening And Trying To Bribe Police
Police said Justin Kenney, 27, of Braintree, threatened officers and tried bribing them to drop charges against a friend.
BRAINTREE, MA — A Braintree man was indicted by a Norfolk County grand jury after prosecutors said he threatened and tried to bribe a police officer. Justin Kenney, 27, was charged with bribing a public employee and intimidating police.
Police told the Patriot Ledger that in February 2019, Kenney found an officer's personal cellphone number after he was pulled over during a traffic stop. Kenney called the officer to apologize, and the officer asked Kenney not to call him again, according to police. Months later, police said the officer received texts from Kenney again, and he tried bribing the officer with $2,000 to drop domestic assault charges against his friend. Police said Kenney also sent several threatening texts.
