Braintree Man Cited In VT After Leaving Husky In Hot Car
The dog was left in the car on a recent afternoon when temperatures in South Burlington reached 91 degrees, police said.
BRAINTREE, MA — A Braintree man was cited for animal cruelty in Vermont after leaving his husky muzzled and tied in a hot car.
Arthur Butterfield, 24, of Braintree, is said to have left the husky in the car on Thursday when temperatures in South Burlington reached 91 degrees. Police said the vehicle had only slightly opened windows and the animal had no access to water.
Officers responded to Timber Lane in South Burlington to find the animal before making contact with Butterfield, who confirmed the dog had been in the car for about 30 minutes.

Butterfield was cited for cruelty to animals, according to police logs.
A person nearby was able to give water to the dog.
