Braintree Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Quincy Identified
Wayne Guilherne, 65, of Braintree, has died after being hit by a car in Quincy according to the Norfolk District Attorney's Office.

A 65-year-old Braintree man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Quincy Sunday night.
Shortly before 9 p.m., state police responded to the incident, which took place on Quincy Shore Drive.
The pedestrian, identified by the Norfolk District Attorney’s office as Wayne Guilherne, was transported to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

A preliminary investigation by state troopers and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section indicate that the Guilherne was trying to cross Quincy Shore Drive in a crosswalk when he was hit. A vehicle in the right lane, the lane closest to Guilherne, stopped to let him cross but a car in the next lane, operated by a 30-year-old Boston man, struck Guilherne.
The car’s driver, who was not injured, remained at the scene according to police. The car was towed to a state police facility to be processed for evidence.

No charges have been filed at this point. The investigation is ongoing.
