Braintree Man With Ties To Cape Facing Homicide Charge In Arizona
Justin James Caruso, of Braintree, was charged with first-degree felony homicide and several counts of arson in Mesa, Arizona.
BRAINTREE, MA — A Braintree man with ties to Cape Cod was arrested after police said he killed someone and set several fires in the Mesa, Arizona area. Police said Justin James Caruso, formerly, of Yarmouth, was arrested Thursday and will be extradited to Maricopa County, Arizona.
The arrest came after a five-year investigation involving police in Mesa, Austin, Texas, and Yarmouth. Police said Caruso was also person of interest in several fires across the southeast, but he was never charged or convicted. Details pertaining to the murder charge were not released.
Police said Caruso is expected to be charged with first-degree felony homicide, several counts of arson and other related charges. He's expected to be expedited after a rendition hearing.
