Braintree Man Wins $4 Million Lottery Ticket From Marylou's

The winner said he will use some of the money to donate to charity.

A Braintree resident who won the $4 million grand prize in the "50X the Cash" Massachusetts Lottery game will receive a lump-sum of $2.6 million.

Paul V. Caruso bought the winning ticket at Marylou's News on Cleveland Avenue in Braintree, according to Mass Lottery. The store will receive a $50,000 commission.

Caruso told lottery officials that he will use the money (the lump sum is before state and federal taxes) to pay bills, invest and donate to Pioneering Unique Cures for Kids (PUCK), a non-profit that funds and advocates for finding a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa. Caruso recently lost his five-week-old son to the rare genetic skin disorder.
