Braintree Mayor Kokoros Gives Weekend Update

A railroad crossing replacement will close a portion of a road in town this weekend, plus what else to know.

On Friday April 21st at 10pm Plain St will be closed to thru traffic from John Mahar Highway to Hancock St for replacement of the railroad crossing near Hancock St. Work will occur overnight into Saturday and Plain St is expected to reopen by 3pm. In addition, on Saturday April 22nd the Braintree Rotary Club will be hosting Electronic Waste Day from 9am to 12pm located at 74 Pond St. The Rotary Club will only be accepting household electronic waste and not hazardous waste.

In honor of National Stress Awareness Month, the Town of Braintree is hosting a free family mindfulness event for children ages 8-12 at Town Hall on Sunday, April 30th, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

The event will give children the opportunity to practice simple and fun stress management techniques designed to reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus, and effectively manage emotions.

A variety of bag prize opportunities will be available at the event.
