BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree town officials recommended a bid for a firm to help develop the town's master plan, Mayor Charles Kokoros said Friday.

The Master Plan Selection Committee reviewed four bids and unanimously recommended Kokoros award the contract to JM Goldson, LLC. JM Foldson is a Boston-based firm that has been around since 2006. Some projects the firm completed include Winchester's master plan and the housing production plan and community development plan for Ipswitch.

"Jenn Goldson and the team she has put together bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Town’s Master Plan process," Kokoros said. "Her firm’s award-winning experience developing master plans in other communities will be an asset to the Town as we develop our own master plan to guide future development and growth while maintaining our community and small-town charm."

The first phase of the master plan process will include a project kick off meeting with the Master Plan Steering Committee, a guided tour of Braintree, review of all relevant local and regional plans and studies, data collection and consultation with key staff and stakeholders.

A public community forum will also be held to encourage community discussion and begin the series of inclusive and community-wide participation. Information regarding the process will be made available through a dedicated website that will be established during the first phase.
