From the Town of Braintree
BRAINTREE, MA – Mayor Joseph Sullivan announced today that the Town of Braintree is encouraging residents to donate to those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas by supporting local and national non-profits.
“While I do want to recognize that Braintree residents are eager to collect and donate tangible supplies to help our fellow Americans in need, this can actually impede Red Cross relief efforts by diverting time and energy to manage, transport, and distribute these donations," Sullivan said. “The best and quickest way to help the people of southeastern, Texas is to make a financial donation of any amount and we want to encourage that if possible."
