Braintree Memorial Day Service 2019
Find out the Memorial Day schedule, what's open, and when to put your trash out on the holiday.
BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree is honoring its veterans who've passed with a Memorial Day service at 11 a.m., Sunday, May 26. Stop by the Blue Hills Cemetery, and join in as the town honors its fallen heroes with a ceremony in the Garden of Honor. U.S. Army Colonel Cheryl Lussier Poppe will lead the service as a guest speaker.
If there's rain or other bad weather, the ceremony moves to the Horace T. Cahill Auditorium at the town hall. The re-located service would start at 11:30 a.m.
What's Open And Closed On Memorial Day
The holiday also means government offices and some businesses will be closed. Before you head out, check our list of what's open and closed on the holiday:

- Subway, buses: Sunday schedule.
- Supermarkets: Open
- Convenience stores: Open
- Bars: Open
- Banks: Closed
- Basically anything to do with municipal government: Closed
- Libraries, see above: Closed
- Schools: Closed
- Mail: Express delivery only
- Trash/recycling collection: Delayed one day. Monday pickup on Tuesday, Tuesday pickup on Wednesday, etc., ending with Friday pickup on Saturday.
