Braintree Opens Warming Centers

Town Hall, Department of Elder Affairs and the Thayer Public Library will be open to all residents who require relief.

Mayor Joseph C. Sullivan has announced that the Town Hall, Department of Elder Affairs at 71 Cleveland Ave. and the Thayer Public Library will be open to all residents on December 27th, 28th and 29th who require relief from the forecasted extreme cold.

Staff will be on-hand to provide hot beverages. Residents are also welcome to participate in any pre-planned activities at these locations.

Town Hall will be open at all hours while the Department of Elder Affairs will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and the Library will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Residents with questions can call the Mayor’s office at 781-794-8100 or the Department of Elder Affairs at 781-843-1963.

Should the extreme cold continue into the weekend as forecasted a further announcement will be made as to hours and locations of warming centers for Saturday and Sunday.
