Braintree Police Celebrate Retirement Of Officer Robert Chin
Officer Robert Chin has announced his retirement from the Braintree Police Department after more than 25 years of service.

BRAINTREE, MA — Officer Robert Chin has announced his retirement from the Braintree Police Department after more than 25 years of service.
Chin started his career with the Braintree Police Department in March of 1995. During his career, Chin served in patrol and motorcycle Operations. Chin was recognized by police for his actions on several occasions.
"In one instance in December of 2012, Officer Chin and other officers were commended for subduing a violent and assaultive person with a knife," Braintree police said in a statement. "During an apparent mental health crisis, this person attacked the officers in a hotel hallway. Officer Chin and others were able to disarm this person and safely take him into custody."

Police also commended Chin for saving suicidal people and arresting felons. Over the course of his career, Chin was awarded 12 commendations from the police chief and dozens of letters of appreciation from Braintree residents.
"We thank Officer Chin for his service to the Town of Braintree after a successful career," police said in statement. "We wish him well in his future endeavors."
