Braintree Police Holding Drive-In For 'Fill A Cruiser' Drive

The drive is collecting gift cards instead of toys this year to lessen the risk of spreading the coronavirus from many people touching toys.

BRAINTREE, MA — It's never too early to think about helping those in need before the holidays, especially those in your own community. Braintree police will get the giving spirit starting next month with its annual "Fill a Cruiser" toy drive.

But because of the coronavirus pandemic, this year's drive is going to be a drive-in event, and the drive is collecting gift cards instead of toys to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 due to several people handling toys.

The drive benefits the Marge Crispin Center's efforts to assist Braintree families in need this holiday season.
