Braintree Police Mourn Death Of Longtime Officer Boyne
Charles Boyne served with the Braintree Police Department for 40 years. Funeral services are scheduled for this week.

BRAINTREE, MA — The Braintree Police Department is somber this week as they mourn the loss of retired police officer Charles Boyne.
Boyne served the department for 40 years in a career from 1969 to 2009.
"His career started under the command of Chief John V. Polio," the department shared, in a message on social media. "Charlie was a humorous individual who had one of the most colorful personalities in the B.P.D. Officer Boyne’s personnel file contained several letters of appreciation for his caring and compassionate service."

Police shared that visiting hours will be on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cartwright–Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., in Braintree. A funeral service is scheduled at the funeral home on Tuesday starting at 10 a.m.
