Braintree Public Schools Are Closed Monday

The town also declared a snow emergency, banning all on street parking.

BRAINTREE, MA — It's a three-day weekend for the students and faculty in Braintree.

With forecasters expecting 6-8 inches of snow, Braintree Public Schools have canceled Monday classes. Decisions regarding evening activities and events scheduled for tomorrow will be announced by mid-morning.

The town declared a snow emergency, starting at 7 p.m., Sunday, to 7 a.m., Monday. Street parking is forbidden on all public roads. Anyone parked on the street and obstructing snow removal efforts will be towed.

The snow will begin Sunday evening, intensifying closer to midnight and staying heavy until sunrise. The National Weather Service has a winter storm warning in effect through the morning commute, Monday.
