Braintree to Receive $20.7 Million in Proposed State Budget
The budget, which passed the House of Representative, now heads to the State Senate.

Braintree will receive over $20.7 million in the fiscal year 2016 budget passed by the Massachusetts House of Representatives this week.
The $38.05 billion proposed budget includes $15,238,728 for the school system in Chapter 70 funding and $5,275,136 in Unrestricted General Government Aid. In addition to this funding, Representative Cusack was able to secure two budget amendments for the community. One of the amendments is a $50,000 grant for the Braintree Department of Elder Affairs and the other is for $150,000 for public safety improvements.
“The two budget amendments for Braintree will go a long way to enhance the safety of our community and enrich the valuable services provided by the Department of Elder Affairs,” said Representative Cusack. “I was happy to work with my colleagues over the past few weeks to have this funding included in the budget.”
