Braintree Recreation Department To Open Summer 2023 Job Applications

BRAINTREE, MA — As the rest of us are preparing for the impending winter, the Braintree Recreation Department is already thinking about summer.

The Braintree Recreation Department announced that applications for employment during the summer of 2023 will be available starting Monday, Nov. 21. Applications will be available online at www.braintreerec.com, in person at the Braintree Recreation offices at 74 Pond St., or by emailing cgriffin@braintreema.gov.

Applicants are being sought for the following positions:

• Organized play and clinic counselors: "Placements available will be in our kiddos, sports, field trip or special needs clinics as well as our neighborhood playground organized play programs. The minimum age for applicants being considered for these positions will be those entering their senior year of high school in the autumn of 2023."
• Lifeguards: "Placement will be at Braintree’s Sunset Lake. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age by June 15, 2023. Applicants must have lifeguard certification. For a two-year certification Braintree Recreation will reimburse chosen applicants half of their certification fee. The second half will be reimbursed should the employee return for the summer of 2024."
• Gate attendants and caretakers: "Placement will be at Braintree’s Sunset Lake and Petersen Splash Pad at Watson Park. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age by June 15, 2023."

Applications are due on Monday, April 3, 2023.

"Applicants are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible. Braintree Recreation will begin conducting interviews for early applicants on dates in February and March," officials said.

Those who have worked for Braintree Recreation during past summers are required to fill out an application to be considered for the summer of 2023.
