Braintree Recreation Hiring Summer Camp Counselors, Lifeguards

Beginning Monday, Jan 4, applications for seasonal employment with the Braintree Recreation Department will be available.

BRAINTREE, MA — The Braintree Recreation Department is looking for college-age students to work in the department's summer programs in 2021.

Beginning Monday, Janu 4, applications for seasonal employment with the Braintree Recreation Department will be available at the recreation department’s office located on the 1st floor of 74 Pond Street.

The following positions are expected to be available this summer:

  • Counselors at the sports, kiddos and field trip clinics.
  • Counselors at the organized play programs in neighborhood parks.
  • Waterfront staff for Sunset Lake and Smith Beach including lifeguards (certification required).
  • Gate attendants for Sunset Lake and the Petersen Splash Pad at Watson Park.

Preference will be given first to college-age students, followed by those graduating from high school in 2021. Should any additional positions remain unfilled consideration will then be given to incoming high school seniors and juniors.

The deadline for submitting an application is Friday, April 2, 2021. Prospective candidates will be contacted by letter in late April with the date/time of their interview which will occur in mid-May. Anyone with questions is welcome to contact the recreation office at 781-794-8900.
