BRAINTREE, MA — On May 22, 2022, at 9:30 p.m., a Braintree resident named Kingsley's life could have changed forever. On Tuesday, Kingsley made a trip to meet with the Braintree officer who likely saved his life.

Braintree police dispatch began receiving multiple 911 calls for a motor vehicle crash in the Union Street rotary around 9:30 p.m. on that May day. The first officer on the scene was Chris Dias, who found a single vehicle had crashed into a cement overpass support column. The car was on fire.

Officer Dias and a good samaritan found the driver of the car laying across the front seat unconscious in the fiery car. They were able to pull him from the vehicle, which quickly became "fully engulfed in flames."
