Braintree Schedules First Council Meeting Of 2023

BRAINTREE, MA — New Year's Eve is this weekend, and Braintree residents will join the rest of the world and country in welcoming in 2023 on Sunday.

Then, promptly, Braintree's Town Council will get back to work.

The council has scheduled their first meeting of the new year for Jan. 3 at 7:30 p.m. It will be a remote meeting, held through Zoom.

Here's what on the agenda:

• A zoning bylaw amendment for inclusionary housing will be reviewed
• The council president will present a tree protection ordinance
• Zoning bylaw text amendments related to the town's floodplain will be referred to the committee on ordinance and rules
• An authorization of a four year lease agreement at 2015 Washington St. will be referred by the mayor to the Committee of Ways & Means.
• Funds transferred from the Human Resources Salary Reserve and Water Sewer Reserve Fund will also be referred to the Committee of Ways & Means.
