Braintree Students Ticketed For Parking Prank Can Void Fine, If They Make A Charitable Donation
Did you get a ticket for improper parking at BHS? Make a donation to the Red Cross or Houston Food Bank and your ticket will be voided.

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree High Schools seniors ticketed for a recent prank can have their fine forgiven if they help out others in need.
Friday, 65 vehicles in the student lot were ticketed for improper parking. Police say members of the senior class parked across the while parking spaces rather than between the lines in an effort to keep juniors out of the lot. The prank resulted in $15 parking tickets for those improperly parked and a firestorm of praise and criticism on the Braintree Police Department Facebook page.
Now, ticketed seniors can avoid the fine if they make a charitable donation. The seniors have until Friday to see the school resource officer with proof that they have made a $15 donation to the Houston Food Bank or American Red Cross Disaster Relief.

"Believe it or not, it was never about the revenue. It was a lesson in life. We hope the lesson was learned, and feel the money is better off going towards relief for people who've lost everything in these hurricanes," Braintree Police wrote on Facebook.
Students who did not get a ticket are still encouraged to make a contribution to one of the two charities.
